RootChord

Root Chord is the title that encapsulates all of the music projects that exist within Pure Media UK. It exists to support and promote emerging musicians from all over Scotland. In the past, Root Chord has established traditional and contemporary methods of releasing music to the general public including album, EP and single recording, production, manufacture and music video production. Root Chord has played a vital role since its inception with The Ultimate Chill, working with and recording many of the bands and musicians who have been involved and providing unique opportunities for young musicians, perhaps most notably, sending 2007 TUC winners Sonnet 65 to Dalian China, where they played to a staggering 30,000 people in one sitting.

Root Chord, Dundee

Currently, our Musician in Residence, Ashley Christie, is overseeing all activity within Root Chord with a strong focus on developing and delivering song writing workshops, musicians workshops and Root Chord’s main project for 2009, The Wee Haggii.

The Wee Haggii: a collaborative international music project aiming to create a contemporary world fusion EP working with musicians across Scotland and China, extending our musicians network and building on our relationship with China.
